One Way To Find Out Where Spam Came From

Friday, 30 May 2003

Many sites require you to register before you can view content or download files from them. If you have your own domain name and e-mail for that domain will come to you no matter how it's addressed, register using an e-mail address that reflects the site name. For example, if you need to register at www.bettermousetrap.com then register using the e-mail address wwwbettermousetrapdotcom@yourdomain.com. Using this technique, you'll know where any spam that is addressed to wwwbettermousetrapdotcom@yourdomain.com came from.
